Our mission

Software research and development, delivered as a service

Dagocore Ltd exists to develop websites and applications for our clients — with AI assistance that shortens the road to the finished product. We are not a body shop and not a vendor that arrives with a fixed template. We arrive, we learn your environment, and we build inside it.

We start from what exists

Before writing a line of code we read your repository, your database and your backlog. The goal of the first weeks is not to produce features — it is to understand why your system is the way it is, so that what we add fits instead of fighting.

We amplify, we don't replace

Most teams already own something valuable: a data model that captures their business, a tool their staff trust, years of accumulated rules. Our job is to make that asset faster, safer and easier to use — not to declare it obsolete so we can sell a rewrite.

We remove the technology barrier

Technology should not be the reason a good idea stalls. We translate between business intent and technical reality, document decisions in plain language, and use AI to make the difficult parts approachable for the people who have to live with them.

Forward Deployed Engineers

Engineers who sit on your side of the table

A Forward Deployed Engineer is not a ticket-taker. They are embedded with your team, present in your rituals, and accountable for the outcome rather than the task list. They learn your domain vocabulary, your constraints and your politics — because software that ignores those things never ships.

  • 01

    Embedded, continuously

Same stand-ups, same board, same channels. You do not brief us through a middle layer; you talk to the person writing the code.

  • 02

    Fluent in your environment

We work in your programming language, your framework, your CI, your cloud, your ticketing tool. Adapting is our job, not yours.

  • 03

    Knowledge stays with you

Every decision is documented, every pattern explained, every handover rehearsed. When an engagement ends, your team is stronger — not dependent.

  • 04

    AI as a force multiplier

Scaffolding, migrations, test coverage, documentation and exploratory prototypes are AI-accelerated — then reviewed by a human who signs their name to it.

R&D as a service

A research capability you can switch on

Building a permanent research team is slow and expensive. R&D as a Service gives you the same capability on demand: specialists who explore, prototype and de-risk the hard questions, then hand you evidence instead of opinions.

Feasibility before commitment

We prototype the risky part first and tell you honestly whether it holds — including when the answer is no.

Innovation without disruption

Experiments run beside your production system, never through it, so exploration never threatens delivery.

No fixed capital cost

Access senior expertise for the period you actually need it, instead of carrying it on your payroll year-round.

Faster time to offering

AI-assisted exploration compresses the cycle between an idea, a working prototype and something you can sell.

End-to-end coverage

From the database schema to the last pixel

Dagocore works across the entire architecture. That matters because the expensive problems live between the layers — a data model that the interface cannot express, an API shaped for the backend rather than the user. One accountable team removes those seams.

Data

Database & data architecture

Relational and document modelling, normalisation, indexing and query tuning, migrations without downtime, reporting and analytics pipelines. We work with the engine you already run — PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB — and we tune it before we ever suggest replacing it.

Backend

Business logic & services

Domain modelling, modular monoliths or services — chosen by what your team can operate, not by fashion. Written in your language, following your conventions, with the test coverage your risk level justifies.

API

Integration & interoperability

REST, GraphQL, gRPC, webhooks, message queues, file-based exchanges with legacy partners. We make your existing systems talk to each other and to the outside world, including the ones nobody wants to touch.

Frontend

Web & application interfaces

Responsive web applications, dashboards and mobile apps built for real conditions: slow connections, older devices, users who cannot afford to be retrained.

UI / UX

Design & usability

Interface design grounded in how your people actually work. We keep the habits that serve them, fix the friction that does not, and respect the visual identity you have already invested in.

Platform

Infrastructure & operations

Deployment pipelines, containers, monitoring, backups and cost control — on the cloud provider or the on-premise servers you already pay for.

Areas of intervention

Where we are called in

Different problems, one constant: we operate inside your environment and with your tooling. Every engagement below starts by inventorying what you already have and deciding, together, what deserves to be kept.

Web platforms & business applications

Customer portals, internal tools, booking and billing systems, back offices. Built to fit the process your business already runs.

  • Progressive rebuild, module by module
  • Coexistence with the current system during transition
  • Your framework, or the closest one your team knows

Mobile & cross-platform apps

Native or cross-platform, chosen against your maintenance capacity rather than our preference — with offline behaviour treated as a requirement, not an extra.

  • Shared code with your existing web app where it helps
  • Store submission and release process handled
  • Realistic performance on low-end devices

Data architecture & performance

When queries crawl, reports lie or the schema no longer matches the business, we diagnose before prescribing — and usually recover the existing database rather than replace it.

  • Query and index audit with measured results
  • Zero-downtime migration strategies
  • Reporting that reconciles with your accounts

Cloud, DevOps & reliability

Repeatable deployments, real monitoring, tested backups and predictable bills — on AWS, Azure, GCP, OVH or the hardware in your own server room.

  • Pipelines your own team can run and debug
  • Cost review, not just architecture review
  • Documented, rehearsed recovery procedures

AI integration & automation

Assistants, document processing, search over your own content, decision support. Grounded in your data, with limits and failure modes explained before launch.

  • Starts from a real bottleneck, never from the buzzword
  • Clear data handling and confidentiality boundaries
  • Measured against the manual process it replaces

Legacy modernisation

Old systems are usually old because they worked. We modernise them in stages, keeping the business rules that took years to get right and retiring only what is genuinely holding you back.

  • Incremental strangler approach, no big-bang cutover
  • Business rules extracted and documented first
  • Rollback possible at every step

UI/UX design & design systems

Research with the people who use the product daily, then interfaces and a component library that your developers can extend without calling us back.

  • Built on your existing brand and components
  • Accessibility treated as a baseline
  • Handover in the design tool your team uses

Security, quality & compliance

Code review, dependency and secret auditing, authentication hardening, automated test suites, and the documentation trail an audit or a GDPR review will ask for.

  • Findings ranked by real exploitability
  • Fixes proposed with your constraints in mind
  • Regression safety net before refactoring

Team support & enablement

Pairing, code review, internal workshops and honest technical mentoring — including how to use AI tooling well. The measure of success is your team needing us less.

  • Onboarding material written for your codebase
  • Review culture introduced without bureaucracy
  • Sessions in English or French
Your environment

You keep your stack. We learn it.

Choosing a partner should not mean rewriting your technical history. Tell us what you run and we staff engineers who already know it — or who ramp up on our time, not on your invoice. The list below is where we are already fluent; it is not a list of what you must adopt.

How we behave

Improve what you have. Impose nothing.

The fastest way to lose a client's trust is to walk in and declare everything they built to be wrong. We take the opposite position: your system is evidence of decisions made under real constraints, and our first duty is to understand them.

What we don't do

  • Arrive with a predetermined stack and bend your business to fit it
  • Recommend a full rewrite when a targeted repair would do
  • Hide complexity behind jargon so you have to keep asking us
  • Leave undocumented code and call the engagement finished
  • Let AI generate code that nobody on the team understands

What we commit to

  • Work in your language, framework and tooling from day one
  • Show the value in what you already own before proposing change
  • Explain every technical decision in language your whole team follows
  • Hand back documentation, tests and people who know the system
  • Use AI to accelerate delivery, with a named human accountable for it

Where AI earns its place

  • Understanding an unfamiliar codebase

Mapping a large legacy system in days instead of months, so our first advice is informed rather than generic.

  • The unglamorous 40%

Migrations, boilerplate, test scaffolding, documentation. Work that must be done well but does not need to be done slowly.

  • Prototyping to settle debates

Two working options in front of stakeholders beat three weeks of meetings about which one to try.

  • Translation, both ways

Turning business language into specifications, and technical reality back into something a non-technical decision maker can act on.

AI-assisted delivery

Removing the technology barrier

For most organisations the obstacle is not ambition — it is the distance between what they want and what they can express in technical terms. That distance is the technology barrier, and it is expensive: projects stall, requirements get misread, and people stop asking for things because asking is too hard.

We use AI to shrink that distance. It lets us read your existing system faster, produce working prototypes early, and keep documentation current instead of aspirational. You get to judge something real, in your own vocabulary, much sooner in the process.

What AI never does here is take responsibility. Every generated line is reviewed by the engineer who will maintain it, tested against your requirements, and explained to your team. Speed that you cannot audit is not speed — it is debt with better marketing.

Our engineering team

Registered in London. Engineered in Madagascar.

Dagocore Ltd is a UK company, and our engineers are based in Madagascar. This is not an offshore call centre arrangement — it is a single team, working the same hours, in the same repositories, talking directly to you. We say it openly because it is one of our strengths.

A genuine engineering culture

Madagascar's universities and engineering schools produce a steady flow of strong developers, trained in mathematics and computer science fundamentals rather than a single trending framework.

Bilingual by default

French is a working language and English is standard in the profession. Specifications, code review and client meetings happen in whichever of the two you prefer.

Overlapping working hours

At UTC+3, Madagascar shares most of the working day with the UK and Europe. Questions asked in the morning are answered the same morning.

Low turnover, deep knowledge

Engineers stay on the same client for years. The person who designed your data model in the first month is still there when it needs to evolve.

Resourcefulness as a habit

Working with constrained bandwidth and modest hardware teaches you to write efficient software and to test for the conditions your users actually have.

Sustainable, honest pricing

Our structure gives you senior engineering at a rate that keeps long engagements viable — with pay and conditions locally that keep the same people on your project.

How an engagement runs

Predictable from the first conversation

No long procurement theatre. The aim is to have you talking to the engineer who would actually do the work within the first week.

  1. 01

    Conversation, not a pitch

You describe the problem in your own words. We ask about your stack, your team and your constraints — and tell you plainly if we are not the right fit.

    Week 0 · no cost
  2. 02

    Environment discovery

We review the codebase, data model and infrastructure, and produce a written assessment: what is solid, what is risky, and what we would leave alone.

    Week 1–2 · fixed scope
  3. 03

    A first useful delivery

We ship something small but real into your environment early — enough for you to judge our work in practice rather than on a slide.

    Week 3–4
  4. 04

    Embedded delivery

The Forward Deployed Engineer settles into your rhythm: your sprints, your board, your review process, with continuous visibility on progress and cost.

    Ongoing
  5. 05

    Handover as we go

Documentation, tests and knowledge transfer are part of each increment, not a final phase that gets cut when the budget tightens.

    Every increment
